I didn't know there was also a russian server http://www.marcomage.ru/
Isn't better to unify the 2 games to increment the players population?
Mojko on 10:31, 19. Feb, 2010
I knew about it a long time, actually I asked them to send me Russian translation of cards and they did sent it too. Since we are open source they can reuse our source code. I have an account there and I'm watching their activity (they have fewer players than we have). My personal opinion is that it's not worth the effort to translate MArcomage to some native language. I know Russia is a vast country, but even so I think it's not worth separating it into a separate application. Better way would be to support multiple languages on one site, but even this option seems not worth the vast effort. It's because playing this game requires only basic knowledge of English.

I knew someone had idea about translating arcomage because i was asked to help with it. I rejected to help them, because adequate rusification of arcomage is impossible due to some special properties of Russian language. Translation is stupid idea even here, but i couldn't imagine thew will try to make another server, which is twice more stupid.

On the other hand, i am sure that project will die soon due to bad management, poor translation and other bad features.

I hope you will never learn how ugly it looks for anyone who knows Russian. I apologize for my compatriots.
P.S. if you want to say anything to them, i can translate your message and their replies.

just say them: "come to the original site that is better :P"
Chrone on 14:07, 19. Feb, 2010
I already started topic with a bunch of questions.
1) Will they update their version after original one and, if not, what is the reason to create worse version of existing game.
2) Why they placed no links to original arcomage
3) Is translation needed at all, plus advice to play origignal one.
4) What is the reason for new server creation if translation was possible without it.

Not really. No official answers were given so long.

Oh, I was asked long ago to help with translation, too, but instead I informed Mojko (since open source nature of this project was never mentioned on this site %)). And by the way, I really can't imagine license (save the "public domain" one) under which it is possible to take authorship of someone's else work - even the software pirates usually don't do such things and that project never mentions anyone from original creators of this game.

And yes, if you knew russian your eyes would start bleeding %)
