Sections are getting plenty pages that this would be usefull, to check where certain things have been discussed before. I missed this possibility a few times as Mod, since some new threads sounded rather familiar. However I couldn't find these old threads.

I suppose it might be a bit tricky for here to have a search engine ala other fora, but it would already be quite usefull to search on words in the title.

For modding also, it would be useful to be able to search for thread title when I want to move posts, rather then sliding down the alphabet.

So I ask:
How possible?

Good idea if possible ^^

Well, when you work with a drop-down-box it has already search integrated by default. When it is selected then it react from input from the keyboard. Try typing few starting letters of the thread name when moving posts.

Forum search is a nice idea. I think it would be very useful. It's not trivial, but it shouldn't be a big problem either ;-).

The problem with searching by typing a thread title in the moderator list is that the topic isn't always the first word. If looking for the thread on Siege preparations, it's it's easy to miss the one titled "Bug: siege preparation"

I tried to design the forum search and here is the result:

1 - search phrase

For start I would like to support only simple substring search, so the system will search if the given phrase is included.

2 - search target

You will be able to choose where to search. Either thread titles, posts or both. Additionally you will be able to specify the forum section.

3 - search result

Result of a search will be a list of threads

Is this functionality sufficient for the time being?
