I understand that the token gain is determined after the card is played, but this can cause unexpected results. For example, if Corpse behemoth discards 6 Undead cards and the cards drawn are not Undead, the token gain will be minimal and therefore the token effect will not trigger. The opposite is true for Rogue: the token effect may trigger permaturely if the card drawn is a Brigand.

Based on this, I propose we change the token gain computation to before the card is played.

This would also prevent Far sight from triggering based on newly-drawn cards rather than the discarded card (such as Alucard).

The only issue I foresee is for cards like Librarian where you want the Mage keyword to trigger after the card effect, but I think the problem would be solved by resolving the effects in the following order: 1) Token gain computed, 2) Card effect triggers, 3) Token gain added (and resulting token effect, if any).

I've brought this up specifically for Corpses behemoth in the past. The fact that it's such an expensive Undead card means you're almost guaranteed to be waiting until the trigger to play it, particularly under the old Undead effect, and having it not happen can leave you at a severe disadvantage. This is made worse by the fact that you can't arbitrarily stack more Undead tokens to be safe since the scenario has it that playing any Undead WILL flip the counter. You're completely at the mercy of the random draw for an effect that is otherwise completely strategic.

I don't know if this proposed change is the best solution, but I do see it as something that needs to be addressed one way or another.

Can't find where I thought I discussed it regarding Corpses behemoth, but I did find this thread I authored when I experienced a similar denial of expected keyword effect when I played a Legend card.

There's a lot of excellent discussion there about what other keyword and card effects would be impacted by changing the system.

I like this, I second the motion.

It would be less confusing, for sure

After some analysis I decided to change the token gain mechanic. Currently the token gain is executed before each potential keyword effect. After the change the token gain will be executed just before the card effect. I went through all cards and the only card that seems to be directly effected by this is the Summon master. Because of this change I will raise its condition to 60 from 50.

This change will be applied in the Christmas update.

Excellent, thank you! [Editing your post to add card link to Summon master].
