MArcomage is awesome..
An online card game..
But where is the trading part ?
It's just a random card game atmo...

Wouldn't it be more awesome if it really became an online trading card game ?
for example...

Each new players gets a random amount of cards available ( or can choose decks which are sets of pre-set cards... )
To obtain new cards the player can trade ( duh trading card game ) with other players or just win games ( which you can like bet a card on the game or just get one at random, whatever suits the developers best ).

Perhaps include a currency system, to buy/sell cards and perhaps do other fun stuff with ( forming a guild xP, perhaps some cool features on your profile like special sort of dp's or whatever... )

ALL IN SHORT !!!

Please make MArcomage a "TRADING CARD GAME" instead of a CARD GAME.

All thanks still for the awesome project you guys currently have.

Well, it wouldn't be a Multiplayer revision of the classic Arcomage then, would it?
Laeresh on 19:08, 26. Jun, 2009
But admit it, it would be cool to turn this into a real TCG
Ikarus on 19:15, 26. Jun, 2009
I acclaim with DPsycho, I think this is the charakteristical part in MArcomage. I must admit, i never played a TCG, but I think there are quite some out there In the Net, not to Disregard that there are Much, but far to Few Cards available for that Game type. I like Marcomage the way it is, although I never played any other....
FilipeSilva on 22:08, 26. Jun, 2009
The advantage of arcomage is that every player has the same pool of cards!

New players do not have to be afraid that they will find some card that is not available to him.

I think that arcomage is better than a TCG due to that!
It's better to collect the fun of the game...even when loosing!

Both have assets and drawbacks, so you can’t say that one is better, you can’t compare them. But I think the most MArcomage players don’t want to have a TCG, sorry Laeresh.

No. Arcomage is not going to be like MTG. Like FilipeSilvia said. The point is that if you're playing your first ever game, you should have the same opportunities and card pool as your opponent.

I'm a big fan of TCG (as I mentioned in the project history page), but I don't think this is a good idea.

When this project began I had to make some design desicions how this game would work. I wanted that every player would have access to all cards, because if we would make some card awarding system, it would put senior players to a great advantage. And I wouldn't want that.

So in short words: No, I won't make MArcomage into A TCG. There will be some special bonuses for high ranking players like bonus card slots or deck slots, but nothing that had something to do with card gameplay.
Laeresh on 15:43, 30. Jun, 2009
Ok i understand that ^^.

I just thought that perhaps it could make it better, but the comments stated that would only make it worse, and yeh i even enjoy arcomage as it is :).

Perhaps a change isn't needed ^^.
It started as a card game and so it will stay.

Thanks everyone for your comments and suggestion ^^, i'm not used to not getting flamed or my ideas not going directly to trash

Hehe yeah I can imagine what this thread would look like on pretty much 99% of the forums in the world... Something like this? http://www.collegehumor.com/video:1907543

While I'm moderating this forum, I will not allow bashing users for their ideas. Any idea concerning MArcomage is welcome to be discussed. I think having a different view on things compared to majority of users is not a bad thing. On the countrary, it can be very useful.

I have similiar experience with such comments. A while ago I made a quite complex analysis of a MMORPG called "Ragnarok Online". Of course, some of the things I pointed out were not completely correct, but I got bashed real bad, just because it was against the opinion of the majority. I think only two users replied the correct way.

And it is rather simple - in a discussion you may tackle the user's agruments, but you must never tackle the user himself. Since having a different opinion is not personal matter, only aguments should be discussed.

Sadly, most of the people find opinion disagreement personal...
Laeresh on 19:56, 2. Jul, 2009
We even had to learn that at school..
You may only respond to anothers argument/opinion when you can strenghten your own with arguments, not just, because that's what i think...

Sadly, only 2 people in my class, me included, now how to do that, it feels like being with morons >.>
Mojko on 08:40, 3. Jul, 2009
Well, it's much easier just to bash other people, compared to backing your opinion with arguments...
Ikarus on 11:04, 3. Jul, 2009
True, for most people it is easier to insult and take the other for a fool, so that they don't have to deal with the Ideas of others.
Fithz Hood on 11:11, 3. Jul, 2009
I can tell that this forum is the best i ever seen.
by the way, Laeresh, you seem to enjoy the forum more than the game: you have done only one match! Maybe you don't know that you can have up to 15 games at the same time. so challange other users and have fun!
DPsycho on 14:36, 3. Jul, 2009
To be fair, we -do- have our arguments from time to time, but thankfully those who seem determined to win more arguments than games don't seem to stick around.
Laeresh on 19:54, 3. Jul, 2009
True perhaps i should play it more often, but the problem is i can't find anyone active... i challenged lot of people and only 1 agreed, and it was more like 1 turn every 2 days.. so that kind of mocked me from doing another challange..
If anyone is up to battle this noob do tell ^^.
marsrover21 on 01:11, 23. Jul, 2009
re: the challenges, just be patient. Most players are skeptical playing a new user. Once you have some games under your belt you'll get more accepts.
