I recently re-watched the movie "Unlimited blade works" and I noticed something very strange. This is the information you are given in the movie:
- you see Caster take control of Saber and made her her prisoner
- later when they arrive to free Saber from the imprisonment you see Saber dressed in completely different clothes
Now, if you think about it:
In the main series (Fate Stay/Night) we are given Caster's background story:
- she uses the Temple as her base of operations therefore there are no women clothes there to begin with (only men are allowed to live in the temple), later they are located in a catholic church which should contain no women clothes as well
- her partner told her, that he isn't interested in the holy grail wars, but will help her to win (she just has to tell him what she needs)
From these facts we can deduce that following happened:
1 - Caster used her used her noble phantasm "The Rule breaker" to take Saber prisoner
2 - after left alone she must have taken Saber's sizes and explicitly told her partner to go buy new clothes for Saber
3 - then they must have put Saber into her new clothes
The change of clothes has no effect on the plot whatsoever. I find it very strange to kidnap someone and change his clothes o_O, just imagine how the dialog must have been silly:
Caster: Finally, Saber is in our possession!
Caster's partner: Excellent. What is our next step of our plan?
Caster: Just take Saber's measurements and go buy her new clothes, a nice dress preferably
Caster's partner: For what purpose?
Caster: Just shits and giggles.
Caster's partner: I can't believe we are having this conversation.
Caster: Just do it.
Caster's partner: 'Kay.
Similar thing happens in the main series (Fate Stay/Night), but this time with Sakura. In this case, she isn't put into a dress, but rather into a mistress class tight leather outfit. Again, for no purpose whatsoever. Again, very questionable motivation. Fun fact is that if you watch the parody series (Carnival phantasm), they make fun of Caster exactly for this "change of clothes" thing she seems to have.
Anyway, I noticed this thing also in a different movie - Mortal Kombat (live action movie). When Shang tsung takes Sonya as his prisoner, when the good guys arrive to rescue her, she is dressed in a completely different clothing. Shang tsung could be categorised as a mage, which makes him similar to Caster. Perhaps mages have some unknown thing for the change of clothes after kidnapping someone syndrome o_O Let me know if you happen to know a movie with the similar scene in it.
This is a seriuos problem indeed. But caster is a magician, no wonder she can create clothes from nowhere (also Piccolo can, and that's the only reason he was not forgotten by Toriyama as Yamcha, Ten shin and the rest: he was useful somehow)
Still it's unclear why. Why changing dress to saber and sakura?
Ok, Sakura was a sacrifice, and you can only use sexy girls for sacrificies or they don't work.
But Saber? it's wierd.
but actually it's wierder that all other characters NEVER change their outfits!
And why create an unlimited field of blades when you will use just 10-15 of them? it's a totally waste of energy!
just use a "30 meter radius limited blade works" and youll'be fine
