Could it be possible to save a note to yourself? So that if you play a card, and your opponent is offline, you could write in a little box "YOU NEED MORE WALL!", and when you open that game and it's your turn, a little box is there, that you gotta click "OK" on.

I mean, I've lost, without a doubt, 50 games, where I thought "ok, next turn I've got to play Barons keep, so he can't just kill my tower or wall", he's offline, and like 20 hours later, I go into that game, and play another card.

So just a little button that's called "Note to self", you click it, a box appears, you type in a short message, click OK. When you join, it pops up, you gotta OK it, it disappears, back to normal.

It's really not cheating, since it's easy to make mistakes when you've got 13 games running at the same time, some guys playing 20 seconds after you played, some 20 hours after you played.

I quite like the idea. I know some of the wannabe perfect players here would say: "just pay attention to the game and analize the situation again, you've got enough time..."

but honestly... theres not allways the time to pay that much attention to a single game and it's just human to make such mistakes sometimes.

I totally agree with him, since it happens to me once in a while too. I doubt though that the idea will be implemented because:

1. I wouldn't know where to place such a note box
2. You could also just open a new text.doc on your computer and enter everything important there.
JimmyMethod on 12:50, 8. May, 2009
Um... you should evaluate what you need to do each time you play a card. It's part of the game.

Use chat =)
DPsycho on 17:30, 8. May, 2009
This would be a useful feature. I have, in the past, kept a text file to refresh my memory of the course of action I was taking when my opponent logged off, especially when the next step varies significantly based on the next play.

I'm pretty sure Mojko's first question would be "Where do you suggest we put such a thing without further cluttering the layout?"

Edit: Rereading, I see that you've proposed it as a pop-up message. Most web browsers default to blocking such things nowadays.
Progressor on 12:19, 10. May, 2009
Id say not doing it via such a message, but just add a place under the chat where you can put and change text as a reminder to yourself, the same way as you give names to your decks. Since this is beneath the chat, it won't clutter the screen.

Keeping notes in txt is a sucky solution, since it asumes you play on the same computer all the time. This is not always the case.

Using chat doesn't quite cut it either since it might influence your opponents move.
Mojko on 13:06, 10. May, 2009
I think we could modify chat for this purpose. We would just add some checkbox option to the chat message (note to self). Such notes would be viewable only by the player who wrote them. But this is only a rough idea. I need to do some more research on this.
Myschly on 17:32, 11. May, 2009
First off: Notepad? Really dude?

The purpose for this is when you've got 7 games going at the same time, or if you're playing the same opponent in two games with same decks, or you're chatting on MSN or something simultaneously, a bit tired, or whatever situation when you might just think to yourself "Well, I've got 0 wall, Basic Wall of course." etc.

In the above described scenarios, I've made mistakes even tho' opponent maybe writing in chat "ah, damn your *whatevercard*", so I don't think chat's that good a solution (better than nothing though).

I did NOT mean Pop-up as in "CONGRATULATIONS! You won a free iPod!", I meant more like the "Player-selecter" in-game.

Sort of how I thought...

Step 1, add a note. You click that, and a little window rolls down to enter text, like replying to a comment on Youtube:

Step 2, read note. I got two different positions here just to show, but it could be an option (you don't have to), or that all the 'Play' and 'Discard'-buttons are "gray" (not clickable), until you've read. Maybe a little blinking flag by the "Read"-button?:

I don't know what would be easiest to code, but I hope you got my general idea and you find an easy way to implement it :)
Progressor on 11:54, 12. May, 2009
And what do you think of modifying chat for this purpose? The only con is that you have to scroll down. Th pro is you dont have to open it as a message, how you suggest.
Myschly on 12:40, 12. May, 2009
The chat-option works as well, but I don't think it's a negative thing having to see your note to yourself to be honest.

Whatever the solution, I'd like to hear what options are available first, before we discuss any further.
Progressor on 13:21, 12. May, 2009
I don't believe you understand what I mean. I mean the solution that you can add things to chat in a way only you can read it.
Myschly on 21:32, 12. May, 2009
Oh no I fully understand, I just prefer the idea of having to "OK" the message, because of the easy confusion of many games at the same time and being tired etc.

If it's not too much of a hassle, one could add an option of whether you just want it in "private chat" or if you want to have to "OK" the note?
Mojko on 07:53, 16. May, 2009
After some analysis I think the best solution is this one:

In the game screen there will be a button which will lead to a game note screen (something like new private message). There you will be able to read/edit the note text. If there is some text stored some indicator will appear in the game screen (animated gif or something).

Of course, each player will edit his own note, so he won't be able to see his opponent's note.

This solution shouldn't be hard to implement and also should provide the needed functionality.
Myschly on 10:35, 16. May, 2009
Sounds perfect!
FilipeSilva on 23:45, 18. May, 2009
great!
could you make that the first note is the name of the deck used in the game?

Thanks
Myschly on 15:26, 19. May, 2009
Well if you're wondering what deck you're using you just check the "Deck"-button right? :P
Mojko on 15:51, 19. May, 2009
Yeah, you can check the deck you are playing with any time by using the "Deck" button.

When I implemented the "deck view" in the game screen I didn't include the deck name, because it is not a relevent information (it can change, so I don't think it matters). Only relevant information in the deck is it's content, i.e. cards.
FilipeSilva on 01:55, 20. May, 2009
I had not noticed/used that button before, thanks!
marsrover21 on 22:03, 9. Jun, 2009
I would like to reiterate this request, but with an addition. It would be great to be able to keep notes about players. For instance, if you are online and looking for a quick game, you wouldn't request a game with someone who you've noted as "accepts challenge then logs off."
Mojko on 14:33, 17. Jun, 2009
