How about adding on "if no Undead-card can be found, raise wall by 1/2/3" (C/U/R) or "gain 1/2/3 random resource" or something, just so that you can get a tiny bit of a bonus for having a lot of Holy when you're meeting a deck with 0 Undeads?
DPsycho on 17:47, 9. Apr, 2009
I'm not sure Holy needs an additional buff, especially since there remain keywords without any effect. However, if something more were to be added, shouldn't it have some connection to the keyword? Adding marginally to wall would be a unique effect, but it doesn't make a lot of sense for Holy per se. I suppose that adding an occasional gem might be in line.
DPsycho on 13:37, 11. Apr, 2009
Looks like it's being improved in that it creates Purified ashes rather than discarding outright. That's a really good improvement, even while still only applying to Undead. However, with its keyword bonus retooled, I think we'll see more use of Undead decks again.
Myschly on 22:57, 12. Apr, 2009
Yeah, it's much better vs undead now, and undead is much better than before.

An additional gem could be alright, but a bit lame? I guess C/U/R = 1/2/3 gems. Or maybe 1gem/2gems/+1stock?

Also to not give it too much strength - "If #Undead cards = 0, and opponent has no Purified Ashes cards in hand".

That way having discarded a lot or used cleansing etc doesn't give you more of an edge vs Undead.

well, with the new token system i really don't see why the keyword holy should be any stronger. As it stands, a holy deck facing let's say a brigand deck is, as soon as his tokens hit 100, able to discard any odd undead card. Not half bad, and since there are alot of good undeadcards that really can go in any deck i dont see the problem.
Progressor on 13:05, 13. Apr, 2009
If there is something you might give the Holy keyword when not facing Undead, give it the Stock it would otherwise receive after discarding an Undead card. This time not based on discarded, but played card's rarity.

Giving it Gems would seem silly to me, since most Holy cards cost Recruits.

What Progressor said is basically what should've been this threads first post ;)
Progressor on 14:29, 13. Apr, 2009
Guess you've wondered of the subject ;-)

Hehe nah, I was just playing my Holy-deck vs someone with 0 Undead-cards, and it just felt pointless having 8 holy-cards on my hands, when I wasn't getting a single "# of holy cards"-card for like 30 rounds :P
Fithz Hood on 13:40, 11. Aug, 2012
this keyword always bugs me because is too specific.
I suggest to make it discard also horde and brigand (lowering the token's gain)
Maybe changing "purified ashes" into "purified soul" (I can't imagine a priest reducing a thief to ashes)
Damalycus on 16:46, 11. Aug, 2012
I can't imagine priest making thief forget his evil ways, and become a peasant either.
Damalycus on 16:53, 11. Aug, 2012
Although I don't think holy needs any buff as it is now - I propose effect similar to runic.

Negate( to a degree) enemy's negative action.

Restore part of the reduced stock/tower/wall/discarded cards/anything else
And the anti-undead aspect should be left intact.
DPsycho on 02:48, 12. Aug, 2012
If any change were made to the Holy keyword effect to make it more versatile, we would have to reduce the efficacy of several existing cards that reward having several Holy in your hand to balance it. Holy is pretty strong right now -- the effect against Undead is simply a bonus, not the reason for its strength. It's rather unique in that way, and I feel it would be a shame to change that.
Mojko on 07:06, 12. Aug, 2012
I'm would prefer to keep Holy as it is, however the change is open to discussion. Here is my suggestion:

Basic gain 25, bonus gain 5, Holy song - gain random resources based on played card rarity (Common - 1, Uncommon - 2, Rare - 5). Replace highest rarity Undead card from opponent's hand with Purified ashes. Can only replace a card with same or lower rarity as was the played card.

Changes:

- stock gain is replaced with resource gain, but it's triggered regardless of the discard effect
- discard effect remains the same
Damalycus on 07:41, 12. Aug, 2012
Even with fairy nerfed - Holy generates stock very fast, we do not need to buff that even more.
