Currently, I abandoned Heroes 6 and Witcher 2 in favour of XCOM: Enemy unknown and Dishonored. XCOM: Enemy unknown seems to be a disappointment for me (it's similar to Incubation series, but it has some design issues, I'll write more later). Dishonored on the other hand is excellent. It basically combines features from System Shock 2, Thief, Deus Ex and Undying to form a very good gameplay. I'm surprised that such game was even made nowadays (in these dark casual times).

My game's list it's becoming quite vintage 'cause I will retrogame like a boss with this device

I've heard only good things about the XCOM revival. I wonder, Mojko, did you play the originals?

Leading to its release, most people seemed worried that it wouldn't be a worthy successor, but those who were fans of the old ones seem to agree that they did it right.

I'm unfamiliar with XCOM series so the fact that I don't like it as much is purely my subjective assessment. XCOM feels more like a management game. In the Incubation series you had only few guys and you were actually one of them. Here men feels like one of the resources the game provides. I also dislike that there are fixed number of actions a soldier can do. In Incubation the number of actions (both moves and attacks) were determined by soldier equipment (heavy weapons would slow you down).

Anyone familiar with The Great Giana Sisters game? It seems there is a recent remake - Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams. Man, I enjoyed the wave of nostalgia when looking at this game. I'm definitely going to try it out :) The soundtrack is excellent - remixes of old themes.

Yes, the team did a successful Kickstarter to get it going, and it was recently accepted through Steam's Greenlight program. I'll probably buy it through Steam during a future holiday sale.

Bought it yesterday from GOG (-10%) and played a bit with it. Really good, worth the money. I haven't played the old game so I don't know how old-timers would feel (if it's a worthy successor etc. etc.) but I like it. The music is simply amazing, especially the red-haired girl version, and I really like the smooth transition between the two girls' worlds.

I think it's a very worthy successor. The original game was the first game I played in my life. I played it on Commodore 64 computer back then. Good times :)

That makes us enemies: my first game was Super Mario Bros. on Nintendo NES.
Giana sister was a shameless copy of Mario bros,; apple vs samsung is is samll stuff in comparison. Anyway this new game seems interesting and it's no more a Mario with ribbon and skirt.
I'd like to have a 3ds version of this.
Sure kickstarting is a wonderful thing
What do you think of an arcomage kickstart's project to rise money for copyrights, a professional card drawer and stuff?
Damalycus on 15:07, 24. Oct, 2012
Arcomage kickstarter?

How much do you think it would cost to draw all current cards? Also new concepts time to time.

Good thing about it, it would attract a lot of new players.

I really don't know, I'm no good with money stuff

Last time I asked my employer (which has many talented people who can draw), he concluded that MArcomage isn't worth investing in due to lack of casual players. You must admit, the game is pretty hardcore. There isn't much single player content available either.

Definitely not so! OK, if MArcomage were to go commercial it would need a lot of reshaping, but mostly in how it presents itself. The underlying basic game mechanics and the basic cardset are already there and it would just need to be reworked/polished/extended. That does not mean that the idea is not worth investing...

Next time you see your boss, tell him to check out this new CCG, Scrolls, coming out these days (currently it's on closed alpha version). From the looks of it, I believe it will become a success. :)

Marcomage is better than many card games online you can find surfing the web.
But you can find their banners everywere (I don't know how many times I've closed Urban Rival's banner to watch my animes), maybe they are affiliated with other sites or a game network like Kongregate.
Also they have fancy graphics, beautiful homepages with dragons or words written on parchment. And maybe the game sucks.

All right guys, I'll ask if I can make some of my colleagues draw some pictures for me. But I have to make list what draw. We should make a complete list and structure it into smaller packages (I will ask them to do that one at a time).

What do we need?

- card images
- card backgrounds
- card image bordering
- castle and wall graphics
- some skin related pictures that would help the website look better
- new logo?

Feel free to suggest things to draw ;-)

I do not think you should bother yourself or colleagues with that stuff. Either you kick-start, or you don't.

btw : CCG and tabletop games are popular on kick-starter and other fundraisers

I agree, you shuldn't involve your friends.
Anyway do you know how much a restyle of this site might cost?
Mojko on 10:38, 25. Oct, 2012
Well, they couldn't give me exact numbers, but basically all of the graphics should be changed. Also, the website should also be restructured according to them.

Started playing Aliens: Colonial marines. The game is good so far. The only issues I have encountered are related to current way how games are produced right now:

- linear gameplay
- checkpoints
- console level of mouse sensitivity when aiming
- forced cooperative
