Is it just me, or have tower construction decks become crazy popular lately? Sophie clones everywhere! It used to be that the vast majority of decks won by destruction, and construction was considered an almost niche playstyle. Anyone else noticed this change? I wish it was possible to view the victory type statistics for different time periods...

I'm curious about the reason for the change. There have been some good recent and semi-recent construction cards like New Development, Minaret, Genbu, and now Standstill. I wonder if it's more of a cultural shift thing though. Maybe it's just because construction lends itself well to keywordless decks, and Sheath your swords is an absolute wrecking ball against a large number of decks (not to mention moon shrine, etc.)

I've been using one for the past year or so. I can't say whether it's become more popular, but if I had to theorize, I would say that the reason is rooted in the fact that, presently, most keyword decks favor a Long Mode game. The only three deck types that fare better in a Standard Mode game than Long are tower build, tower destruction, and rush. Rush decks have taken a considerable hit over the past several updates, so that leaves building and tower attack as your best responses to a request for a Standard match.

I think I just play against one guy who uses construction decks exclusively.
More like these imba - tower decks are growing in popularity due to fast winning and no skill involved.

They are not imba. They are less expected I think. I like to play keyword vs keyword, and do not expect sheath or moon or sudden tower rush.

I believe that Moon shrine/Moon castle is not that a big problem. -7 or more stock are 2-3 rounds of production and most keyword decks have a good amount of stock-gainers to compensate this. These cards only really hurt at the beginning of the game. The real pain for keyword-decks is sheath your swords, because this card wrecks your hand in the beginning, in the middle and in the end of the game and is easiely doubled by halfling rouge.

I also have to agree with Damalycus, they tower-rush decks are just not expected, because you have most time cards in your deck wich inceases your wall. But since Siege was implemented, many tower- have greatly improved, since the low amount of tower+ cards in normal decks are most time nullified by the siege keyword. Also, many tower- cards have improved, since they now relies on the siege keyword instead of other ones (Balistae, Siege Tower and so on), so your deck is not weaked by the addition of soldiers, since a tower- deck is in fact a keyword deck, a Siege-Keyword deck. The only think i mention is that the implementation of the siege keyword has helped tower- decks to become more no-brainer-like

Edit: Back to the topic, i have seen that construction decks become more popular,b ut they are most time keywordless ones. other Subtypes have not developed that much.
