is centaur tribe the new centaur patrol troop? (it shares the same picture) in that case why did it need a change? it's one of the more usefull and balanced beast commons
dimitris on 15:30, 29. Nov, 2010
I don't see Chaos dwarf in these balance changes...
dindon on 16:11, 29. Nov, 2010
Chaos dwarf received a de facto nerf by the addition of banish to a bunch of commons and uncommons.

I mean, it's a pretty powerful card, but it only works in a very specific deck type. You have to make significant sacrifices to use it, since it pretty much dictates exactly what commons you take. Specifically, you'll want to take as many alliance commons as possible which, if you do, leaves you with two free common slots.
Noak on 18:13, 11. Dec, 2010
with all the new banish cards and people adapting i really don't think there's any need to nerf Byakko and architect, by being durable they seem more overused than they are i assume? They'll be redundant outside long mode otherwise. I also think ogre and war wolf could be 1-2 recruits cheaper each.

edit: maybe this might be the wrong place but in case of new mana burn (enemy magic = enemy magic/2) will it be rounded up or down?
Mojko on 12:05, 12. Dec, 2010
Rounding has standard behavior. Here are few examples to illustrate how it works:

round(1) = 1
round(1.5) = 2
round(1.49) = 1

Also note that these two card effects are not equivalent:

Card1

Attack: 3N
N = #Magic / 2

Card2

Attack: 3N / 2
N = #Magic

Card1 applies the round function sooner, so with magic = 3 card1 result would be Attack: 6 and card2 result would be Attack: 5. You can use the card preview to be absolutely sure.

I didn't want to make a new topic for this, but I just want to say: the new update is awesome.

I just looked at the achievements system, and it looks really cool. I love the gold system. Love deck statistics. Also, all the little convenience changes (no limits on number of games with a specific player, fewer reloads in the deck section, etc.) really add up to an improved experience. I can't imagine how much work must have gone into this update. It's a Christmas miracle!

Are we going to get a preview of the new card pack, or will it be a surprise?
dimitris on 06:47, 27. Dec, 2010
Yes it's great! Especially the achievements system take the game to the next level! I also really liked the fact that Sabotage, Avenging Angel and Nature have been restored.

The only thing that I have concerns about, and maybe I won't like it, is the simultaneous games against a player. I usually host games and want to play against different people and different decks. If the new system means that somebody will hog my hosted games... well I don't know. We'll see.

Also, I have a question: What are those "in-game awards" that I read about in the Updates thread? I can't find something about it in the manual. Is it related to the achievements?

Keep up the good work!

Some achievements don't use game awards such as Gentle touch for example. but they just count some in game action. Those would be:

- tower build
- wall build
- tower damage inflicted
- wall damage inflicted
- quarry built
- magic built
- dungeons built
- rares played

Achievements based on these in game awards provide lowest gold awards, because they can be achieved over time without any extra effort. See achievement descriptions for more information in the player achievement page.

Glad to hear you like the update ;-)

Edit: I wonder who will be the first one the get an achievement and which one will it be :)
Lord Ornlu on 12:14, 27. Dec, 2010
Most probably it will either be Wall built or Tower destroyed or Resource accumulation.

Titan awards will be obtained after a few years I think :P
Mojko on 12:52, 27. Dec, 2010
The in game awards are counted as total, so for example tower build you accumulate points each time you build your tower.
Lord Ornlu on 13:36, 27. Dec, 2010
btw Tier 2 Protector picture is from Tribal Wars. InnoGames had a case against other games that used their pictures a year ago, so be careful
Mojko on 14:43, 27. Dec, 2010
Thanks for reporting it. I replaced the picture in r1294.

Ladies and gentlemen!

Unfortunately, the new year update will be delayed a bit (I expect it to be ready by tomorrow evening), however I promise it will be worth waiting ;-)
