(Fishguy didn't challenge me back.)

Speed up idea: The player who should play against the winner of us challenges us both. :-p
Random idea of the day, but it might work?

Ladies and gentlemen! Boys and girls! It's that time again!

The second annual Arcomage Tournament!

Here's how this one is going to work:
1. Send me a message if you're interested in playing (rules below) NO LATER than Sunday, July 1st.
2. I will randomly assign pairings by Wednesday, July 4 - check back here for the list.
3. Once the pairings are assigned, you will have approximately 10 days to finish your games.
4. When challenging your opponent, make sure you let him or her know it's for the tournament.
5. You must post the replay number and the winner of each game on this thread.

Tournament Rules:
1. We're playing first player to win two out of three games. With the winner advancing to the next round.
2. The first two games must be non-hidden mode, but the third match must be hidden mode. However, all games must be in long-mode.
3. You may change decks in between games/rounds and in between opponents.

I tried to switch up the rules from the last tournament to add some variety. Let me know if this is something you're interested in or if you have any questions!

Hey Moj, do you think we could put a gold or foil prize for the winner(s)?
dimitris on 15:09, 21. Jun, 2012
1. What happens with draws?
2. If it were only for non-hidden mode I might have participated :)
Mojko on 16:00, 21. Jun, 2012
And here are the prizes for the tournament:

1st place: 500 gold
2nd place: 325 gold
3rd place: 175 gold

OR

1st place: 1000 gold
jbryant3 on 20:55, 21. Jun, 2012
@Moj - Let's go with the first option to spread the wealth. :) Thanks for the help!

@dimitris - Good point. Draws will result in a loss for the player who played the last card which caused the draw. For instance, if I play Catasrophe and end the game in a draw, I get a loss. The same applies if I play Inspiration and we both get a tower victory.
Damalycus on 18:54, 25. Jun, 2012
I've anticipated a bigger number pf participants. And a weaker opponent. Oh well :)

By your own rules, we have almost an entire week yet to message you to take part in the tournament. I would hold off on creating a roster until more people have had a chance to enter.

(Also, in light of this, the six listed above should probably sit tight before starting.)

Good point! I got excited about the tournament and forgot the timeline!

Please disregard my pairings (I'll delete the post)

Any info on the status of the tournament?
jbryant3 on 14:21, 16. Jul, 2012
Working on the pairings today. I'll have them out in a few hours. Sorry for the delay - I was out of town!
jbryant3 on 14:58, 16. Jul, 2012
We will be following this bracket:http://www.printyourbrackets.com/10teamsingleelimination.html.

The pairings are as follows:

Match (1) - jbryant3 v Lord_Earthfire
Match (3) - DPsycho v huwok
Match (5) - Winner of Match (1) v Coolis
Match (7) - Winner of Match (3) and Winner of Match (5)

Match (2) - Django v Spoon
Match (4) - Arbnos v Damalycus
Match (6) - Winner of Match (2) Fithz Hood
Match (8) - Winner of Match (4) and Winner of Match (6)

Due to the number of players, this set-up requires that the players in Matches (1) and (2) play an additional match in the tournament. I'm not sure of a good way to compensate for this so if anyone can think of anything let me know.

Otherwise, GAME ON!

Good luck to all and try to play the games quickly. Please see prior posts for the rules.

Make it a league. Everyone plays with everyone. Win gets 3 points, draw 1, defeat 0. Best 4 play in the Final Four knockout. :P
