Description should be changed to "100 - tower height". Now it is misleading - makes one think that "max tower" refers to highest tower in game.
Mojko on 12:56, 12. May, 2010
Max tower tower is a game constant and doesn't need to be 100. Currently it is, but that could be changed either directly or by a game mode.
DPsycho on 14:02, 12. May, 2010
Make it "max possible tower height" then.
dimitris on 07:41, 21. Oct, 2010
The text is now a little confusing with all this math involved...
You could keep the old text and just put a (max 100) in it. It's literally the same thing.

EDIT: now that I think of it, it's not :P
Mojko on 07:45, 21. Oct, 2010
No, it's actually very different. Here is a comparison of old and new version:

Old version:

Normal mode: Damage = 70 if tower = 30
Normal mode: Damage = 40 if tower = 60
Long mode: Damage = 170 if tower = 30
Long mode: Damage = 140 if tower = 60

New version:

Normal mode: Damage = 70 if tower = 30
Normal mode: Damage = 40 if tower = 60
Long mode: Damage = 85 if tower = 30
Long mode: Damage = 70 if tower = 60

See the difference?

Are you sure that it's the good way if people will need calculator just to determine attack of one card? ;)
Mojko on 07:51, 21. Oct, 2010
Well, if you come up with a less complicated card text with the same effect, let me know.
vault on 07:59, 21. Oct, 2010
That's what I mean, this card effect is unnecessarily complicated... I think you can keep old text and just add fix limit (max 100 or 120), as dimitris wrote, it will be the same for normal mode, and limited for long mode...

It's not the same. It's actually a percentile...
If we put a max on it, for every tower < 100 in long mode the damage will be 100. But that's not the wanted effect.

PS. I cannot think of a simpler way right now.
vault on 08:05, 21. Oct, 2010
I didn't say that it's the same effect... I said new effect is complicated, fix limit is different, maybe not so pretty, but much more simple...
Mojko on 08:07, 21. Oct, 2010
Adding limit for long game mode is different from current form. With limit you will be able to do higher damage even when your tower isn't very low. The changed you proposed is a balance change and I don't think the Avenging angel needs buff.

However, the issue with complicated effects is not unique for this card only. Actually, there are more cards for example All-elemental attack that require the use of calculator. I think more than a card text change, we need a "play preview" which would show you the impact of the card on game attributes (of course this preview would be incomplete, since some effects can't be predicted, like drawn cards).

That's a thing that I wanted to propose some time ago, but I feared it's too much :)

Attack: 100(1 - N)
N = Tower height / Max tower

As it is now, the text on the card is quite unclear and seems like there's a symbol missing. In honesty, I have trouble working out what exactly is meant to happen based on the text.
