In case there isn't anyone who doesn't know the concept, in MtG, if you don't like your opening hand, you can opt for a Mulligan where you shuffle up and draw one less card. Could this be implemented, if instead of having 1 less card, you had took the eighth slot and put in a card that was something like:

Mulligan
0- If this card is discarded, the next card will be this card.

You could make certain cards overwrite this if you wanted, like auxillia for instance. It could be at the beginning of the game, you'll have the option of mulliganing before you see your opponent's cards. You'd probably have to make it doable only once per game in order to avoid people trying to get really good rares (although the chances of that not working and screwing you over are pretty good).

The main downside is that it would take longer to set up a game, but it could add another level of strategy.

Could this be implemented? Would anyone else be interested in that kind of feature anyway?

It's a cool idea because I hate getting an opening hand with all commons. Not sure if it should be implemented though...

Well Marcomage is already very much unlike real life card games in the amount of hidden "pseudo-randomness" built in (you're less likely to draw a card that's already on hand, you can't draw the same card you just discarded, etc.). It wouldn't be a far leap to just make it so that your opening hand is always 6 commons and 2 uncommons, or 5 and 3, or what-have-you.

I tried to make a common card that had a similar effect to a mulligan. It wasn't what I would call a roaring success.

the way to do mmulligans is this; every game you start with a "mulligan card" in the eighth slot. you can play the mulligan card on your first turn and get stock -3 to get a new hand with the mulligan card. if you dont play it in on a turn, it gets discarded (so it basically says, if not new, is automatically discarded when you play another card). the drawback is you are basically skipping turns to get a new hand. then when you have a hand you want, the card leaves. that way it doesn't have to be a card that you pugt into your deck.

If I would add such a feature, I wouldn't emulate it's effect via a card, but rather program it as a in-game function accessible via button.

It's interesting, but I don't think it would fit Arcomage

I don't really desire the option, but most suitable for Arcomage would probably be something like a button to click which gives you 8 new cards and -1 or -2 stock (before viewing your opponents hand?).
