Wildfire gem should be an uncommon for Flare to burn uncommons as well. As rares can only flare rares, the same should be true for commons and uncommons.

I disagree. Let that type of immunity stay with Rares, not something that applies to every rarity level. Such a change would likely affect the Banish mechanic as well, and Banish is already underpowered.

Besides, Wildfire Gem has been nerfed several times already with its ever-increasing stock reduction. It's already far less useful than it used to be.

At the moment, I have two decks with wildfire gem:
A burning and a mage deck... sadly phoenix feather and the gem are much more vital to the mages deck, then to the burning one.

Why is that so?
1.) The phoenix only is casted, when only one other burning card is on hand. Quite unusual in a burning deck
2.) Most burning cards need several recruits, such as the feather and the phoenix
3.) With the mage deck, it is much easier to "supply" a bunch of gems... you normally can accumulate the ~40 gems for the first phoenix strike in 5-10 turns (depending on your magic)
4.) In mages decks, there is much more card drawing due to ice queen, so the appearance of the feather with the gem is much higher (as those cards remain on hand)

That's quite sad: In my opinion the phoenix should be a "typical" card for a burning deck...

I think the crucial point is the "commonness" of the wildfire gem. Now that it also discards uncommons, I think it should also become an uncommon card. To be honest, when not playing vs. burning, it is a better Eternal storm or a better conscript army... okay, it also burns your cards... but what does it matter, when you have a conjurer a wish and a lot of crap on your hand?

What do you say?

My Burning deck is actually Burning/Mage/Legend, and I've been able to summon Phoenix using the feather often enough. If I draw the feather, I play the Burning cards until I have two. I'll occasionally use Wildfire gem after summoning Phoenix, but more often than that, I'm playing the Mages or +Magic I've accumulated when I was getting rid of the Burning cards and soon have enough Burning again to trigger Rebirth. Even better if I've put a Searing fire or two in my opponent's hand already by keyword effect.

Phoenix is, of course, also one of the Rares actually in that deck. I certainly see it and the feather as staples of the Burning deck.

As far as making Wildfire gem Uncommon, I stand by my opinion of 2009. It's inhibitive enough as it is. I feel that if it were made Uncommon, it should then work on Rares like the Banish and Skirmisher keywords do at that rarity.

About wildfire gem/phoenix feather/phoenix I think that the broken one is Phoenix feather that can summon the pohenix too easily; I think it should have another condition to summon the phoenix, something like: "if burning tokens > 60"
Wildfire gem is quite a nasty opponent for my titan deck but purifing fire and dark flame are a perfect solution against it.

Yes... first I wanted to post this one in the phoenix feather-thread...
a solution via the feather could also be, to increase the number of burning cards "needed"... but I think, the "thematic-idea" was, to let the phoenix be some kind of "last hope", when almost every other burning card has exceeded... and maybe, giving the opponent the chance, to still react on the thread.
A solution for the "reaction-part" could be, that only opponent burning cards count... but therefore doubled. (=20N N= burning in opp hand)...
