Doncha think Beastmaster got nerfed with the granting of Banish to the Werewolf? Odds are pretty good that the Beastmaster will get kicked right out of your hand before you can use his second power. And then you just have a bunch of beasts attacking you.
Progressor on 22:39, 7. Oct, 2008
Good point here, I think. It was supposed to make werewolf better I guess, but in this context it sucks, especially since the trigger chance of Banish is 100%.
DPsycho on 00:54, 8. Oct, 2008
I never considered that, but you're absolutely right.

Should have frenzy.
Mojko on 20:02, 10. Nov, 2009
And have it easily summoned by the Overpower? There is already an uncommon card that summons him.
jbryant3 on 20:32, 10. Nov, 2009
Overpower and Bestiary already gets some beast rares, why should Beastmaster be any different? Granted, he's more powerful, but he has a drawback: he usually gives your enemy some really strong cards to play. I think he should be upgraded a little.

There is an uncommon that summons all rares: Scepter of Summoning. There are also commons that rares too...

Progressor on 18:55, 12. Nov, 2009
If you want to upgrade Beastmaster, make it cheaper so it's easier to play it twice. This way you'll mainly upgrade overpower rather then Beastmaster.
jbryant3 on 19:12, 12. Nov, 2009
Well, that's fine too. But I wasn't saying use beastmaster for overpower. I was saying use him to get other frenzies off.
jbryant3 on 21:18, 7. Jan, 2010
Another consideration for Beastmaster. He would be MUCH better if he filled the enemy's hand with common beasts.
Noak on 21:22, 7. Jan, 2010
i think the proper thing to do is to remove the beast keyword from him alltogether, he's very different from the rest of your beast card and when you tries to summon a rare beast you almost always go "shit" if you get him
jbryant3 on 21:30, 7. Jan, 2010
Well, I believe he can be salvaged. Adding Frenzy and making him give enemies only common beasts would really be a bonus. That way, he would benefit the fire beast (can't remember his name) that does damage based on all beast and burning cards in game and the frenzied cards. Additionally, he may be used in tower-building decks to slow the enemy down by giving them a hand full of common beasts.
Lord_Earthfire on 21:34, 7. Jan, 2010
I think that then he would be overpowered. With the Frenzy-Keyword, he deals extra 16 Damage, and when he fills your hand with common beast cards, then your hand will be almost useless. When you fill the enemys hand with random beasts, the enemy has a chance to do something against the second blow of the beastmaster, which will do then at least 40 Damage, and whith this he can be countered. Else he would only be a direct victory-like card like dragon squadron or something like this.
Lord Ornlu on 21:35, 7. Jan, 2010
Frenzy will make him too powerful. He will be able to deal something like 20 additional damage with that
Progressor on 21:59, 7. Jan, 2010
I must admit, I rarely (not never) saw this card work. Mostly because it wasn't possible to play it often enough in a row. Because of stock on the one side, aggressive Beast cards on the other side.

I think the common only part might have it's charm. Maybe lower it's cost a little... Or increasing attack, to make the sacrifice worthwhile

As for Frenzy Im sceptical as always, but...
Maybe :-P

Options...

PS I survived a Dragon Squadron recently. :-P
Noak on 22:28, 7. Jan, 2010
For the sake of argument, he is the only rare beast card without Frenzy keyword apart from Centaur trainers and those summons another rare beast card

With the recent addition of uncommon Frenzy cards, Beastmaster has gotten WORSE. He now can put multiple frenzies in the enemy's hand, opening you to some major pain. I propose a total reworking:

"Mode 1: Attack 7N. Where N=#Beast cards in game.
Mode 2: Replaces non-rare non-Beast cards in hand with non-common Beasts.
Mode 3: Replaces enemy's hand with common Beasts."

And we would get rid of the Durable keyword.

Rework like this would be nice, but he should be cheaper OR should get Frenzy keyword OR shouldn't lose Durable.
jbryant3 on 13:25, 9. Nov, 2010
Good point. I forgot to add that Durable would be replaced for Frenzy.
Noak on 14:40, 9. Nov, 2010
if it's getting discarded by banish that is the problem just remove the keyword and make it replace a card in hand with itself?
