Hi everyone :)

I'd really like to know if you have played other tcg befor marcomage and which ?

I played Magic the gathering and sadly yu-gi-oh ^^ today I think it's only made for commerce but not for the fun.
Magic instead is really great and I love it quite a lot ( now I don't have either the money or the time to collect trading cards :p )
Mojko on 20:23, 3. Feb, 2010
Magic the gathering TCG, Yu-gi-oh TCG, Pokemon TCG, LOTR TCG, Star Trek TCG, Game of thrones TCG.
Sundancer on 21:08, 3. Feb, 2010
phew that's quite a lot Oo... did you really play them or just checked touched them lightly ? ^^
Mojko on 21:18, 3. Feb, 2010
I played MTG and LOTR TCG a lot even attended some official tournaments, other mentioned TCGs not so much.
Chrone on 21:39, 3. Feb, 2010
Never played TCG IRL. I think i can spend my money in more interesting manner than buying cards =)
Sundancer on 22:33, 3. Feb, 2010
Hmm my father used to say that money is something that you should only have to buy yourself moments of joy.
As long as I have a roof over my head and enough to live I'll gladly spend my money on everything that makes live worth living it :)

( even though I would'nt buy tcg anymore since I'm more intressted in the Audi R8 or a Porsche Carrera :p

Anyway, dreams exist to be fullfiled :)

I read the Pokemon card game rules a few times, though I never built a deck or played an actual match. Most of my card gaming experience came from Tetra Master in Final Fantasy IX, at which I became pretty good, I think. I discovered the standalone Arcomage computer game a few years back and enjoyed it thoroughly, then researching it and finding this site through a Wiki article.

Magic, Star Wars (Decipher), Star Trek (Decipher, 1st iteration), Highlander, Babylon 5 (best CCG I've ever played, hands down), Pokemon (sigh), and a game a friend and I made up called 'Frat' (a comedic game about fraternities, with the goal to get your Brothers to sleep with hotter women than your opponent)

Oh, and it's not really a card game, though it's similar: I played MageKnight and Mechwarrior:Age of Destruction.

The Clix system was kinda cool.

When I was a kid, Pokemon was a huge craze, but no one at my school actually understood the rules of the game. 95% of our energy was focused on acquiring and trading the cards, rather than actually playing with them. When we did, we pretty much made up the rules as we went.

I've never really played any proper TCGs in real life, though I've always been interested in the idea. On the other hand, I think the "gotta collect them all" mentality would be kind of frustrating. One thing I like about Marcomage is that everyone has access to the same cards, and is on an even playing field. Really, in many ways, Marcomage is nothing like a TCG at all.

I allways liked the excitement when I bought a few new booster packs... I even remember the smell of new cards :) sometimes I really went like him ^^:

Magic, Babylon 5 , Wheel of Time, Legend of the Five Rings
Fithz Hood on 11:18, 5. Feb, 2010
I've played Magic many years ago (last expansion was something like "urza's saga"). Now I play yu-gi-oh, but only on my nintendo ds. I've tried also "lord of the rings". Now I'm creating my own personal tcg videogame with multimedia fusion (i'm not a programmer).
Sundancer on 14:26, 5. Feb, 2010
Hey wow, that's really nice :D

Hmm will you maybe upload a beta version ? :)
since you post a huge lot of creativ card concepts here on marcomage, I expect a lot from a card game that's made by you :)

multimedia fusion seems like a good progamming software for newcommers but I guess it's not free ?
Fithz Hood on 14:31, 5. Feb, 2010
Wait wait, I didn't create any card yet, I've only programmed the resources, the map, the graveyard, the drawing & playing phase. cards will come at the end (plus I don't know how to put it online).
Sundancer on 16:14, 5. Feb, 2010
I know that it takes some time ^^ I'll gladly wait for any good game until it's finished.. I don't really like the current games because they tend to rely on graphics alone and contain a huge amount of bugs...
Mojko on 16:54, 5. Feb, 2010
Sadly, that's the way the mainstream games currently are.
Sundancer on 17:51, 5. Feb, 2010
I really liked the old games :) Master of Orion or Imperium galktika I... Sim city, Lands of lore etc ^^ those were great times :)
Lord Ornlu on 19:57, 5. Feb, 2010
indeed. Master of Orion was one of the awesomest game i ever played
Fithz Hood on 20:21, 5. Feb, 2010
lately threads tend to go off topic easily.
Have you ever tried full metal alchemist tcg? I've played it once and it was really beautiful and strategic (too strategic for me).
Sundancer on 20:32, 5. Feb, 2010
Let's just call this chit-chat thread and keep on, I think it's fun :)
