Sorry for multiple simultaneous ideas but it has entered my mind during brainstorm about Mechanic keyword. Forum search gis me no such suggestions previously.

Idea: bunch of cards, each of which match rune of, for example, Norse runic alphabet https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Runes#Elder_Futhark_.282nd_to_8th_centuries.29
Each rune has inconspicuous effect when it used alone, but if player have all runes of whole word (rune definition started from this rune) in hand — he will gain special and powerful effect (effect is related to rune definition). The more word length — the more powerful such word.

Each rune card has mode selector with two options: Mode1 — use rune word if it's possible, Mode2 — always use only card own effect.

Example for rune «ehwaz» («horse»):

Rune ᛖ
if Mode1 and Rune ᚻ and Rune ᚹ and Rune ᚨ and Rune ᛉ in hand
N = 20
discard these rune cards
else
N = 2

if enemy wall = 0
attack: N
else
opponent loses N random resources, if opponent has more resources of certain type compared to his other resources, they are more likely to be reduced.

(Charge keyword simulation because of «horse» :-) but it's just example)

What do you think about?

Now, now. Nordic runes are next to everywhere already. Use Irish and Hungarian ones, too!:3

At the same time, how would you execute the combinations to any notable effect? Titan decks spend the entire game to do the same, and they win the game in an instant once they are done. The entire deck or large portions of them would have to be made of runes to counteract the issue, and the defeat of an army with a lots and lots of magic scribbles is... a little weird, given the context and the scale of what you try to accomplish.

Ok, we can use shorter rune words (totally fictional or real Norse short words) — with 2, 3, 4 letters.

Arcomage is competition of mages, isn't it? One of two mages searches, collects and uses runes for power and victory. Look at rune word as at single powerful spell card divided to several ones.

There are 24 Norse runes and 45 places in deck. And alone rune card will be weak and can't have a seminal influence on combat. So runes can be used only in combination with other cards.
