I think it’s an interesting concept of new cards but it’s not new, many other TCGs have this system. The concept is to combine two weak cards to a strong one or two strong to an very strong or something. It’s also implementable to make cards which you can’t take in your deck, theoretical is it implementable…
Like that:

Merger (common/zero/Quick)
Discard a heavy and a light infantry and receive infantry battalion

Infantry battalion (uncommon/9R/soldier)
Attack: 18
If there is no Charge card in enemy hand Attack+8

What do you think about it?

This concepts is very similiar to Yu-gi-oh TCG, where they call it "fusion". There they have a special fusion deck just for this purpose. However I don't think this is a good addition for MArcomage, since it's way too far from our design concept.

Keep in mind that MArcomage it in different complexity TCG class compared to Yu-gi-oh TCG or MTG TCG.

Mabe in a more generic form:

Discard a common Beast and Soldier, next card will be Imperial Griphon or War Elephant.

I think its a good idea, but Arcomage should be kept as close to the original as possible IMO.
