I think there should be some new token side-effects:

1. Burning:
Currently - discards a random enemy card
Proposed - turns a random enemy card into searing fire

That way, they have to spend the time discarding it or playing it, but they don't get the benefit of drawing another card.

2. Undead:
Currently - upgrades a random undead card
Proposed - lowers enemy stock for each undead in hand: 1 for each common, 2 for each uncommon, 5 for each rare.

It seems some people don't like the current undead ability as it leads to unpredictable results. This follows the undead theme as the undead are "consuming" the stock. Since there are such easy ways to kill undead in the hand already, it's still balanced.

I like your suggestion for Burning. I agree with your reasoning.

As for Undead, the amount of stock reduction you're proposing seems rather large. Then again, I only play my Undead deck periodically, so I can't really say how many of each rarity one is likely to have onhand when gaining the bonus.

For burning, I agree.

For undead, the way you put it, we'll get undead decks winning on resource instead of destruction victory.
Just let it depend on the played card rarity (1/2/3).

Or here is a more original idea:
Make it do what holy does (holy cards replaced by Abyssal scavenger). This way good vs evil is guaranteed to be an epic battle, rather then a good win by definition.

I personally think the Brigand power is weak. I think it should go 1/3/5, but that's just me.

I agree on Burning and Brigand. I've discard someones cards several times to have a crappy common replaced by a good uncommon/rare. With Brigand, you get the tokens and wait to play Prince of Thieves, not that worth it.

Undead v Holy:

Lower Holy token count to 9 or 10, have an "if no Undead cards or Purified ashes are found": Randomly select a card in enemy hand. Gain stock based on rarity (1/2/3).

Undead having the ability to discard into Abyssal Scavenger could work, but then I'd like a "if there are 4 or more Holy cards"-thing, to ensure that you don't get that vs a non-Holy deck with just a few Holy.

I agree with the Burning change suggestion, but I think the Bonus damage should be disabled for that case, It would be too powerful in my eyes.
And I think a trigger like:
only cards with the same or less Rarity as the Played card can be Discarded.
would be useful, to prevent destroying enemies Rare cards Regularly.

On Undead, I prefer Progressors idea, but why not making the condition a little versatile, by saying:
one not Undead card is Replaced by Abyssal scavanger.
so it can hit the Undead Deck too,

With Brigend I agree too, its a little weak, I join the idea of (1/3/5), or at least raising the Brigand token gain a little.

Also Nature, Restoration and Destruction cards could have a little effect, like Legend:
Nature: there is a 25% Chance to raise random Recource by two,
Restoration: there is a 25% Chance to raise stock by one,
Destruction: there is a 25% Chance to reduce enemy Stock by one
or something like that,
another Idea for Nature/Restoration/Destruction:
there is a 20% Chance that next Card is a Nature/Restoration/Destruction of higher Rarity.

I really don't like the idea of Undead having any effect against Holy. Holy beats Undead... Rock, meet paper.
marsrover21 on 08:30, 21. Jun, 2009
yeah, I agree. I mean, undead is really strong. Holy is basically the only thing stopping it from seeing universal play. And it's not like holy has tons of uses. It's okay in a couple of decks, but holy by itself can't win you games. besides, the side effect is useless unless playing undead. It's a really good interaction as is imo.
jbryant3 on 19:58, 24. Jun, 2009
Well, my biggest problem with undead is that is upgrades a random card. If the point is to keep this upgrade ability, then at least upgrade a few of them, say 3? If not, then consuming their resources doesn't automatically make a resource victory. Maybe keep the one random upgrade with a little resource stealing. That way, you actually have the ability to play that undead host you suddenly have sitting in your hand. As it stands right now, it's a crap-shoot.

Holy is imba against Undead, but that's fine because it blows against all others.

I don't really play much Brigand so I can't speak to that.

I like the idea of having counters for nature, restoration, and the like. That would be fun to balance with the other counters.
