I think it's time to say something about this card.
I don't like it in its current form. It makes recruit accumulation too easy. If you have it in your hand, you can play Orc regiment, Devastator or War elephant in next 2-3 turns, no matter what. Not to mention those ridiculous rare oneshots like Bahamut, Dragon Squadron or Iskander.
I'd like to see a rework. Something like that:
Rare, Durable, 1/1/1
Bricks prod x0
Gems prod x0
Recruits prod x3 (maybe x4)
Mojko on 10:19, 26. Jun, 2012
Currently the card cost is 3 resources and you lose 9 additional resources with normal production. So in average you trade 12 resources for 20, that's roughly 8 resources gain. Not so much for a rare, I think. It's getting better if your facilities are crippled, but I don't think this card is overpowered. Also, it can be discarded with an Uncommon banish.
NG_Beholder on 11:00, 26. Jun, 2012
Yes, but when you have full hand of recruits-only Barbarians, Soldiers or Horde, those bricks and gems are completely irrelevant.
By the way, this card is much better than Darkforge, despite the fact that Darkforge has better recruits gain, Alliance keyword and insane scaling with Dungeon. Just because IWW doesn't need all that - it just gives a ton of recruits to you.

Now I see where this card comes from!
Isn't "Unlimited Blade Works" a better name for it?
Mojko on 22:28, 5. Jul, 2012
Yeah, you got me :) Personally, I prefer current name.
Fithz Hood on 22:36, 5. Jul, 2012
I was looking at archer vs berserker and i thought:
"I must absolutely create an 'unlimited blade works' concept... wait,... that sounds familiar..."
Mojko on 05:33, 6. Jul, 2012
I recently re-watched the movie "Unlimited blade works" and I noticed something very strange. This is the information you are given in the movie:

- you see Caster take control of Saber and made her her prisoner
- later when they arrive to free Saber from the imprisonment you see Saber dressed in completely different clothes

Now, if you think about it:

In the main series (Fate Stay/Night) we are given Caster's background story:
- she uses the Temple as her base of operations therefore there are no women clothes there to begin with (only men are allowed to live in the temple), later they are located in a catholic church which should contain no women clothes as well
- her partner told her, that he isn't interested in the holy grail wars, but will help her to win (she just has to tell him what she needs)

From these facts we can deduce that following happened:

1 - Caster used her used her noble phantasm "The Rule breaker" to take Saber prisoner
2 - after left alone she must have taken Saber's sizes and explicitly told her partner to go buy new clothes for Saber
3 - then they must have put Saber into her new clothes

The change of clothes has no effect on the plot whatsoever. I find it very strange to kidnap someone and change his clothes o_O, just imagine how the dialog must have been silly:

Caster: Finally, Saber is in our possession!
Caster's partner: Excellent. What is our next step of our plan?
Caster: Just take Saber's measurements and go buy her new clothes, a nice dress preferably
Caster's partner: For what purpose?
Caster: Just shits and giggles.
Caster's partner: I can't believe we are having this conversation.
Caster: Just do it.
Caster's partner: 'Kay.

Similar thing happens in the main series (Fate Stay/Night), but this time with Sakura. In this case, she isn't put into a dress, but rather into a mistress class tight leather outfit. Again, for no purpose whatsoever. Again, very questionable motivation. Fun fact is that if you watch the parody series (Carnival phantasm), they make fun of Caster exactly for this "change of clothes" thing she seems to have.

Anyway, I noticed this thing also in a different movie - Mortal Kombat (live action movie). When Shang tsung takes Sonya as his prisoner, when the good guys arrive to rescue her, she is dressed in a completely different clothing. Shang tsung could be categorised as a mage, which makes him similar to Caster. Perhaps mages have some unknown thing for the change of clothes after kidnapping someone syndrome o_O Let me know if you happen to know a movie with the similar scene in it.

I'm totally not reading your post, I have still to watch that movie. we need a spoiler feature for the forum.
Mojko on 08:15, 6. Jul, 2012
Oh, and I thought that your post implied that you saw that movie. Anyway, my post doesn't really spoil the movie I think. I was nitpicking some really plot unrelated scenes that I even didn't notice when I first saw the movie. I noticed it only on a the re-watch. Anyway, if you want to be sure, than go ahead and watch the movie first and report back. You may even like it more than the main series which it's the alternate version of.
DPsycho on 13:12, 6. Jul, 2012
Maybe clothomancy is so simple a school of magic that it can be safely assumed that all mages have learned it along the way, but you never see it come up because magically altering one's outfit doesn't have a lot of combat application. ;)

Actually, that would be incredibly useful in espionage...
Zaton on 09:45, 9. Jul, 2012
Actually, Caster is canonically a lolicon, and is somewhat taken with Saber on top of it. Why, in Carnival Phantasm(Which is, praise Type-Moon's foresight, not completely canon) she rolls on the floor like a teen on ecstasy, squeeling 'Cute' repeatedly while spying on Saber with a crystal ball. She has little handmade Saber dolls, too. (That rank A item craft skill does wonders, people!) I'm not making this up, either.

This is a seriuos problem indeed. But caster is a magician, no wonder she can create clothes from nowhere (also Piccolo can, and that's the only reason he was not forgotten by Toriyama as Yamcha, Ten shin and the rest: he was useful somehow)
Still it's unclear why. Why changing dress to saber and sakura?
Ok, Sakura was a sacrifice, and you can only use sexy girls for sacrificies or they don't work.
But Saber? it's wierd.
but actually it's wierder that all other characters NEVER change their outfits!
And why create an unlimited field of blades when you will use just 10-15 of them? it's a totally waste of energy!
just use a "30 meter radius limited blade works" and youll'be fine
Mojko on 16:02, 10. Jul, 2012
To continue the nitpicking I noticed this as well:

When Shiro is attack by Rider (in Fate Stay Night), Rider is unable to pierce his heart with her weapon (this is due to some situation that is explained (spoiler)), but earlier Lancer had no problems piercing his heart with a Spear.
Fithz Hood on 16:18, 10. Jul, 2012
and you can't recover from an injury dealt by Gàe bolg... unless you are the main character
Mojko on 16:31, 10. Jul, 2012
This is actually pretty sad - Lancer is the only one who died because of Gàe bolg (in unlimited Blade works movie).
DPsycho on 22:12, 10. Jul, 2012
Come to think of it, Howl from the original book Howl's Moving Castle magically alters the groups outfits to fit 1980's Europe in one scene. Sophie, having never encountered denim before, is unsure how to describe the pants she's suddenly wearing. I guess it is a pretty common magical ability.

This one is garbage Chaos gargoyle is better than this - 0 Cost, Recruits + 25
