Why would anyone play this card over Mage guild? Sure, it gives a little more wall for 2 less resources, but it doesn't have a change to draw rare mages... I think this card should either do more wall and tower or maybe raise mage tokens by 10 or something.

Also, I think it makes more sense to switch this card's title with Mage guild... For some reason I picture the tiny little cottage housing a mage, but not sure what kind (common or rare). Just a thought.

When you have to populate your hand with mages you use all kind of summoners. For tokens or Ice queen. Also I can image some scenarios when uncommon mage is better than rare

I would like to see an increase of the cost to 4/2 for the summoning of an uncommon mage. I don't see why i should take this in a mage deck over just another common mage when it comes to tokens or ice queen. The waste of a turn is not worth the summoning of a mage with chance for a common one, and when you need tower or wall, you would rather take a brick-only builing card.
