I think it would be cool if we could share decks with other players.

I believe the functionality is already ready-made as Export to CSV. All the system would have to do is take this csv export and automatically import it to a deck slot of the other player.

What do you think?

Well, you can export the deck and send the CSV file via email. It's really small in size, so it shouldn't be a problem.

What would be nice about making it a site feature is that you could simply make some of your decks freely available to others who could access them at any time, and anonymously if desired, without need to open a dialogue and go through the process of sending or requesting it. Automatically planting it in a deck slot would be bonus, and the recipient could from there export to a file if it were additionally desired.

if its allowed i can implement deck sharing section to site. where ppl can save decks view them and rate and comment them.

Well, we are open source project, so you are free to download the source code, setup local application and start coding. But before we use such a code it has to go through quality control and there is no guarantee that it will be used.

To revisit this topic...

It would be as simple as a checkbox in each deck for public or private. If public, a player could see list of the public decks in the other player's profile, then click in it to display the deck.

We already have the Import/Export functions for the decks that I doubt anyone uses (I know Fithz did at some point), which we could use to send information back and forth between players.

To prevent abuse, maybe not allow a player to look at another player's deck that he is currently playing against.

Yeah, I used import/export to give a deck to a newby friend and also for storing decks leaving space for other ones (now I don't need to do it anymore with 30 deck slots).
I like the idea of public/private decks, it should be useful for noobs and people too lazy to create a deck.

I'd go further and make Deck library.
Something like players list, with following fields: picture, name, author, keywords, description.

picture? are you talking player's avatar?

i sometimes use export import when you need to have multiple variant of the same deck

like horde deck for hidden game and for non-hidden game. or when you want to try out changes to a great deck, but do not want to fuck up statistics or forget what did you change later.

you copy, and make adjustments.

No, I mean deck picture. Well, if you can upload a picture for your concept, why don't make it for deck?

Thanks for this feature Moj! There are only a few of us that have shared decks, but I had a few another thought... Allow the AI games to pull from the shared decks (maybe make this another option in the drop-down menu). This way people could play a quick game against the AI while waiting on other games. It would also be a good way to test out your decks against other decks.

While I understand that the AI won't follow the "theme" of the deck, it would at least be a good benchmarking tool.

Well, you can actually do this - just import a shared deck and then give it to AI. The deck sharing section gives you pretty good tools how to filter the shared decks. This couldn't be present in the deck list menu when selecting deck for the AI.

Hey, cool feature. Maybe I'll share some of my old decks, as a blast from the past for some users. I wonder if they're still any good? I haven't really kept up with the balance changes over the past year or so.

If you're looking at them, keep in mind that they are from Feb. 2012, at the most recent.

I like the Deck Sharing section and want to share one of my decks. I'm having a bit of a problem though. I don't want to keep the deck in my deck list because I like to play a random deck most of the time, and this deck is Sophie-specific. This is easily solved by removing one rare from the deck so that it is incomplete. My problem is that when I pull a card the deck also disappears from the Shared Deck section. Is there any way to share a deck without having it as an active deck?

It can't be done at the moment. I could theoretically remove shared decks from random list, but then some players might dislike such a feature.

The best thing would be to have the possibility to chose wich decks should belong to the "random list". maybe with a checkbox near the name of the deck in the decks section (checked by defalult)

Why there cannot be a "dummy player" which would import all shared decks, and only his decks would be seen in that section?
