Eventually you'll become a better player by experimentating. And comparing a MMORPG with a site that makes a 2 player turn based card game... That can't hold as general as you state it.
This site doesn't attract 13 year old boys who like to play nude nightelves (Which is just a random annoyance I hear from friends who do play it. My point being: this site targets a different kind of people then WoW.)

BTW You don't seem to know it (your somewhat new here, I guess), but there are plans for a level based "Rating" system. See forum topic Development - Next major goal, and

I don't think a rating sistem will ruin the game, Marcomage's players are nice people and there is a lot of fairplay. and the funniest thing is to build new decks; someone who plays only for win (using always the same overpowered deck) will be tired in few months and eventually he will quit.

In this new rating system high ranking players shouldn't be really interested in pwning noobs, becuase they will get very little EXP from this. Btw. this system is still in design phase so it's still open for discussion.

But in general, I think that player's behaviour isn't system dependant. We can do such things as to ban players for some behaviour, but these are exceptions, not systematical actions.

I agree with Progressor here. This game definitely targets a different group of players. (That's why I don't play MMORPG, because it's a huge waste of time).

Come on, i meant "pwning noobs" as type of mutual attitude, not the plan of game tactic.

The fact people talk so much about rating system proves my point. Also, there is a lot of mess around garbageonly. He doesn't have best win/loss ratio, nor any other reasons to be discussed apart of being at the top of the list. This proves my point too.

Wolfheart, your example can illustrate my idea. I just slightly mentioned wow, and what i see? Your post is totally unrelated to topic, but you are sure you must tell everyone that you had better numbers than other players. This is what i am talking about - when someone mentioned wow (as a example of game with great rating system), player's first assosiation was numbers (first association is always about most significant for player information). I am pretty sure you are not 13-year old boy who likes playing nude elves, but effect still shows up.

But if everyone else is still so very sure that they are special, i am wasting my time.

I just want to put my two cents in. To be clear, I'm not arguing against anyone else's point of view, just defining mine.

I've always liked the way the Players section is presently filtered in that it has those who've played the most games at or near the top and those who are recent inductees at the bottom and climbing. It has nothing to do with ratios or ratings. Simply put, those who have played the game the most and the longest are there at the top. I respect those who have been here a while and played several games, win or lose. This does not mean that I feel it is the best for everyone, just that it suits me fine.

Examine ratios, try to design one perfect deck, never use the same deck twice, go for a winning streak, or try to win a match with the most useless deck you can produce just to see if it's possible. Approach the game however you want, so long as we're all having fun, I figure. I would suggest that we not look down upon one another player for placing value in one element more than any of the rest, and especially that we not dismiss anyone who doesn't meet our own ideals regarding the game.

I don't place much value upon the ratio, personally preferring total games played, but I won't tell anyone else that they shouldn't evaluate other players their own way. It's everyone's game to play as every individual wishes, so long as no one's cheating. ;)

to Xpoh: "Also, there is a lot of mess around garbageonly"

What do you mean? Am I missing something?
