Just a suggestion but it just came to me that something like the facebook "Like" button should be put next to each concept card and the number of likes shown when you press the view concept button. This way we can see which are the most popular cards, which cards most people think should be implemented. I don't know if it's possible but i think it would help the development of the game (cardwise). What do you guys think?

I feel it should be kept to comments, personally.

If there were to be a Like button to add a "point" then there should also be a Dislike to remove a point from concepts that you feel would negatively impact the game. There would be potential for people to try to "win" the concept game or feel hurt if their concepts are numerically ignored.

You would also have to consider whether or when these values would reset. Currently, most good concepts go through a few revisions before reaching a point where people can fully appreciate them. Would it be up to players to go back and alter their votes when a concept changes dramatically?

I think Mojko does a great job already identifying potential additions and adapting them. I'm not sure that adding a liking system in addition to the forum discussion would accomplish anything more than inflating (or deflating) the ego of the concept author.

I really like this idea. Or maybe a thumbs up/thumbs down system?

My only concern is the fact that concepts can be edited to the point that they no longer resemble what they once were, so the "likes" on a particular concept might reflect how much some previous version was liked. We could make the statistics reset on edit, but that wouldn't be fair for small changes.

Edit: In response to the point about the forum being sufficient to give feedback, I usually only post if there's something particular I want to point out ("this part isn't implementable", "under the following circumstances it could be overpowered", etc.), or if I really, really like it. Otherwise, I'm not inclined to waste space with a post like "I like this", or "I don't like this". Looking at the concepts forum, most of the posts are about how people think the concepts should be modified, not about whether they like them or not.

well, the same thing DPsycho mentions happens with posts to a degree.

I think it's a good idea and we could implement it. Reseting the counter shouldn't be a problem. It could occur if there was a change to the text or cost of the card (not the picture or description)

I don't think it should reset if a typo is corrected. Plus, it would discourage people from making small tweaks, something the current system encourages.

What about allowing the creator of the card to choose when editing the card whether or not to reset the likes/dislikes?

How about listing that it had "X amount of likes" before last edit, "Y amount before that" etc. ?

Basically, I agree with DPsycho. All mentioned implementations of "like" buttons wouldn't be worth the effect I think.
