I think this would be more interesting like this:

Attack: 30 + 4N
N = #Quary
if #Unliving in hand > 4
Quary: +2

Because I find it more attractive if the attack is based on quary. And it will not be tightly coupled to Unliving.

I feel like your version would still be fairly tightly coupled with unliving. Even in a Gateway or Legend deck, I don't think it would be that appealing.

I like the fact that this card (in its current incarnation) has the ability to raise your quarry so steeply in one blow. Few cards give such a potentially high facility gain.

I never said that it would be completely independent from Unliving, just a little more "free".

I think Unliving needs some good attacking rare card(s).
Dragon Golem is crap, imho, and Water Elemental is very strong but very situational.
The main notion that I wanted to illustrate here, is that I'd like it more if Colossus's attack was based on Quary. Like Byakko and Seiryu are for dungeon and magic respectively. The actual quary gain could stay the same as now (#Unliving/2) but I doubt it's often greater than 3.

I like (and use) this one as it is. I don't see it as one that needs changing at this time.
