Compared to Scepter of Summoning, this seems pretty weaksauce.

It was, I have since rebalanced the card to 9G and Quick because I agreed with you.

Yup, looks better now (basically a souped-up, higher-cost Veteran militia with a drawback). I just wanted to edit my post so it didn't seem like I was a moron. :P

I like the idea of making a sacrifice (in this case putting purified ashes in your hand) for power. Actually, it would be cool if we had a whole keyword based around that theme. It's a pretty common archetype. Destruction would kind of fit, but not quite.

I suggested a negative-effect keyword when we were discussing what "Horde" could do unique to existing keywords. Having a keyword that does something disadvantageous if you play two in a row, but featuring cards that give the greatest effect when there are many on hand, would give a new experience.

And now I'm looking at my own post and wondering if I need to branch it to its own topic. Whoops.
