I would like to introduce a gold coins system to MArcomage. First a list of changes to current system:

- you get no bonus deck or game slots when you level up (you get gold coins instead)

- you don't get EXP for game awards (you get gold coins instead)

A player would gain gold coins:

- when he levelups

- when he gets a game award

- when he gets a player achievement (explained below)

- when admin awards him manually for contests or other work that site benefit from, for example moderators and supervisors would be awarded with extra gold coins

Gold coins would be spent at MArcomage shop. You could buy game slots or deck slots for example. This would allow the player to choose the type of slots he wants. Next, there could be some minor things to buy like extra selectable graphics of player tower and wall. I'm not quite sure what other unlockable features could be here, so feel free to suggest some.

Each player would also gain player achievements based on his game awards. Player achievement could for example be Titan - gain 10 Titan victories game awards. Gaining an achievement would grant you gold coins. I'm not quite sure if this should be one time gain or cumulative (for example for each 10 Titan victories).

Existing players will have their bonus deck and game slots calculated and equivalent amount of gold will be subtracted from their level up income. Of course you will get no gold for all game awards achieved in the past. So the players keep their bonus slots, but they lose some gold for it. The next option is EXP reset.

I still don't think our EXP system is good (as we only go up in leveling), so unless a reset is to a different system, it seems unnecessary.

Since we're implementing this whole "gold" thing, then why not have a counter for achievements as well. Some people (Fithz) already keep track of their achievements so why not make it automatic?

Actually, we don't have achievements yet, only game awards. As I described above, I plan to add achievement system. The EXP reset will be done only on player demand.

I approve. We should have custom flags for our towers when victory is achieved as well. Perhaps a choice of fancier "backs" to the cards for Hidden games.

I would say let people keep their already-gained deck and game slots and don't worry about figuring out retroactive GC (or GP?) cost. Just start everyone at zero or whatever would constitute a low number. It would work out the same in the end. A newer player wouldn't have earned any extra slots or many GP, and an experienced player would have few GP due to having "bought" the slots granted at level-up.

Nothing that gives anyone an advantage within a match setting should be included. It should all be cosmetic.

Well, I still like the idea, that when you reach lvl 20, you can create your own common card.
The name of the card will be "*name*'s Avatar", costs 5 choosable resources and steals 1 Stock, 1 Wall and 1 Tower. Also the picture can be chosen by the player, or will be the Avatar used in the profile.

Isn't really that a good card, but I'd put it in all my decks just because!

every month we could give gold coins to player who won the most game during the month.
or to the top 3.

golden coins could also be used as entry fee for turnaments with fantastic prizes (other coins I suppose)

This is nice idea, but it sounds more like a theme related thing and not something that is really awardable.

We have to be careful with something that would have the intent of being visible to the other player when it occupies the same space as card text. Some players have to avoid certain styles and themes because they render the text illegible on their browsers. If we end up forcing card backgrounds on people, there could be unavoidable browser issues. (And if we make such elements optional, there isn't much point to them.)

Giving a stylized border that doesn't touch the text should be alright, though.

another thing I would like to buy is the possibility to have more than 2 simultaneus games vs the same player.
