this card could have the barbarian keyword as the other mistress
Spoon on 11:26, 15. Jan, 2012
5R
Beast. Frenzy.
Attack: 12

I think this card is severely underpowered right now. Comparing it to Giant spider, for example, BM is only 2R cheaper, plus the spider has the additional effect of -5 enemy bricks. I'd even say Giant spider is better than this card! Any further opinions?
..it's not like Beast decks don't need a buff anyways.

if the right condition are met it could deal 27 damages for 5 recruits, it's not that bad.
Anyway I'd like it to be also barbarian

You forgot about two things - Beast and Frenzy keywords. So it's 12 + 5 + 10 = 27 attack for 5 recruits. By the way, Giant spider is second worst Frenzy after Battle rager.
Barbarian keyword... This card has 5.4 attack/resource ratio, and with Barbarian it would be 8.4 (or 5.4 and -8 stock to enemy). Hard to achieve, but still...
This card doesn't need a buff, but if you want to buff it, add Horde keyword.

Ok, so without Beast keyword, Giant Spider and Beast Mistress both have the same damage of 17, including Frenzy.

to me the cards still seem very similar in power, despite this one being rare;
Beast mistress
5R
27 damage max.
Rare

Giant Spider
7R
22 Damage max. (same conditions)
-5 enemy bricks
Uncommon

Beast Mistress does offer some excellent damage:recruits ratio, but it is rather weak for a rare, in my opinion.

Horde keyword is pretty enough to buff it, in my opinion.

Great idea, all other horde rares are so expensive

I would wish to add to the old discussions. Based on how Lord EarthFire explained to me in the Rexella thread, a rare card has five Resource worth of effect off for free, as a loose guideline. And two Attack is worth around 1 resource in rare terms. Another interpretation could be ~27 overall Castle for free(which doesn't follow the above, but Shogun does and somehow people are okay with the discrepancy.)

Then what is with Beast Mistress to make her cost as high for what should be almost free? Even by the more conservative 2 Attack = 1 resource approach, this card should cost a measly 2 Recruits(which in turn reduces the benefit of rage blast but such can be adjusted through more damage, or even more damage and a higher cost). By shogun standards she should be free and then some. Even by a Shogun played at a point where there are only minimum facilities in game, nine castle at no cost, would have a better net worth than the poor woman does.

Which is not to say Beast Mistress is an awful card by any stretch, but damn, she drew the short one when card stats were handed out, didn't she? Most Zero-costs have more oomph to add to the board than her.

She does, absolutely, need a cost adjustment and more attack, or the horde keyword. And yes Barbarian would make a lot of sense.
