We have the new hyperlinks engine prototype ready for testing purposes. We prepared an alternative game client. This client uses same database as the original one, but has separate web files (concepts images, avatars...). Please use it for viewing only, any actions (posting, playing cards, creating concepts) are not advised.

You can also direct link anything that uses a hyperlink for navigation (hyperlink buttons are visualized by standard hyperlink cursor (hand symbol) when hovering over them).

Any feedback is appreciated ;-) Thanks.

I think it's much better without the re-post warning on browser refresh. And it looks slightly faster or is it just a misconception?

Maybe the style of the buttons should remain the same (white bold fonts).

Quite nice. I'd like to make 2 observations for improvement though:

1) increase the size of the toolbar buttons (Forum, Webpage, Messages etc...)

2) when hovering the mouse somewhere in line with a topic of the forum, the whole line is highlighted. However, you can only enter the topic if you press on the subject. maybe it would be more functional and easier, if it was allowed to enter the topic if one clicks wherever on the highlighted line (beside the author's and last poster's names).

It does look a bit faster indeed!
And I agree with Lord Ornlu's suggestions.
Other than that, it looks great!

This will be very good for search engine optimization. I highly approve.

I'm looking forward to being able to directly link to certain pages when explaining the game to friends who haven't started playing yet.

While I agree that it is faster, the current website looks much cleaner and sophisticated (even if it isn't).

It's true that when using hyperlinks it's faster because whole POST processing is omitted.

@Lord Ornlu:

1 - I made the hyperlinks buttons to look the same as normal buttons. If it doesn't looks like the same, please send me a screenshot and a browser version.

2 - I disagree on this one. There are multiple areas you can click on in the highlighted thread, I think it's best to let player decide where he wants to click:

thread name will take you to the first page
thread author name will take you to thread's author profile
date of last post will take you to last page
last post author name will take you to last post's author profile

I think these new hyperlinks are much easier to click on compared to old buttons. I wanted to test if it is necessary to underline all hyperlinks in the forum to highlight the clickable areas. Because it doesn't look very good when all hyperlinks are always highlighted, I decided to go for a lighter version - hyperlinks are underlined only when you hover over the corresponding thread.

Btw. don't forget to check the new game manual (new "Help" section in menubar).

@dimitris: re-post warnings can be disabled in the browser settings.

I didn't say to remove those features completely. On the contrary, it's good to keep them. I just suggested that most players will want to go to the last post. Therefore it would be good to make it able for the player to click anywhere on the line BESIDE thread author's name, date of last post, last post's author's name, and thus be directed directly to the last post. I think it will be more functional and user friendly :)

Having a hard time navigating the new layout with Chrome. I am unable to tell which game is ready for me to play my turn. http://yfrog.com/n6marcomagep

The game page has gotten taller and i cannot fit it all with no scroll bar, which isn't a huge deal but it is something i did like about the old. http://yfrog.com/5mmarcomage2p

It looks good to me on Chrome 5.
You possibly need to Ctrl+F5 (clears browser cache) the page in order to see it correctly :)

That fixed it! Looks beautiful!

Looks like nobody reads the news section >_< *sigh*

It's possible to have hyperlinks also in the text of cards?
It's useful when someone draws cards like magic lamp
Maybe someone already asked for this?
Mojko on 07:22, 29. Aug, 2010
Yes, the umage already mentioned it. I have it in my TODO list.
