Just wondered if anyone else has experienced problems loading the content on the site in the past 72 hours. For ~36 hours (ended approximately 12 hours ago) I could not access the site at all, it just sat there 'loading' permanently. Problem was verified on multiple computers using different browsers on different networks.

Now I can access most of the content, but the background image (the image displayed behind the cards) does not load (I just see a blank white screen).
I have changed my background setting, but that had no effect.

Didn't notice any issues in the past few days. If I were me, I'd use tools like Wireshark and Opera/Firefox page analysis features to try and find out what's going on. From your description I have no clue about what's going on.

Coincidentally, the problem seems to have gone away in the last hour or so. No idea why I was having so many problems on many different computers....thanks for the help.

I've had a similar problem occur when staying at certain hotels. Some ISPs block certain types of files, for no particular reason I can think of. At one hotel I've stayed in, every Amazon.com image was always permanently blocked. No idea why it happens; Amazon worked fine otherwise. But there it is.

I had some network problems, so I blamed that.
