I would like to ask what is the reason all these late server crashes occur. Is there another attack attempted against the site? is there something we can do to help resolve the problem?

I wanted to ask the same. I was in the middle of a thorough comment post with the site also open in another window so I could compare cards. As such, I was fortunately able to see that the site had gone down before attempting to submit (and losing) my post. The site was still down an hour later when I had to leave.

Is there a technical issue, or is someone actively causing this to happen?

The last time it went down I got so excited because I was sure it meant that an update was coming :(

This was due to software maintenance on our server (this should also improve site security). I apologize for not informing you, but I didn't know that it will be done as well.
