I recently switched OS, I left XP in favor of Linux Mint.

It took a while to retweak Opera. I know have most of it back to my likings, but the Chat input field of MArcomage is just a lil bit too long.

So, two questions:
1. What causes it?
2. What fixes it?

The issue is most probably related to font settings on your computer (browser/OS). Try to adjust your local settings.

EDIT: It seems that Opera under Linux has different default settings for Fonts. The default font is bigger. Since we use relative sizes the chatbox is larger, because of the larger fonts. Even card texts are larger. You need to adjust fonts settings - try to make the font size smaller.

EDIT2: Go to Tools->Preferences->Web Pages There you can find default settings for Font display. My current settings are New Times Roman (normal font), size 16 and Courier new (monospace font), size 13. Try to readjust these settings with these values.

After some trying, changing the mono font had no effect whatsoever on the Chat input.

Edit:
Found my fix: enable fith to width. ^^

After I updated to Opera 10.60, a new problem occurred:

It now wants to fit al cards played in a round so you don't need to scroll. As you can see, this is horribly ugly. Also, the card pictures are no longer in the center of the card, but aligned left.
I don't have these issue's when I don't use Fit to Width, but then the problem of the first post returns.

Also, regardless of fit to width, some cards get ugly on their own:
