This is why Sheath your swords is overpowered. Or maybe Halfling rogue. Certainly the two of them in combination...

I drew SYS around turn 11, and I basically won the game at that point. This was even against a deck with purifying flame. Surely you can imagine the frustration of my opponent. I could discard his hand faster than he could draw new cards. His only real hope was a lucky rare.

Sheath your swords is such a crippling, crippling card against Soldier, Undead, Beast... any deck that relies on numbers, really. I think it would be great if it were nerfed as part of the Christmas update.

I think it's the most discussable card in game
NG_Beholder on 13:33, 14. Nov, 2011
Yes, after Laputa and Beastmaster :)

I can only use sheath in my deck that has no keyword cards, and that deck sucks compared to decks with keyword cards because it gets no keyword bonuses. Just something to consider.

Actually keywordless decks are not so bad.
I saw some nasty keywordless tower decks that are quite fast and powerful

Fair enough. Maybe just make it a rare card?

Yes, most effective construction decks are keywordless and most effective keywordless decks are construction.

It would be really cool if we got one or two keywords that focused more on construction than destruction (or resources), and cards that made keywordless attack more viable.

You could argue that Unliving is construction-focused, but back when I played an unliving deck, I'd say I won less than 50% of my games by construction. Lots of destruction victory by Water Elemental/Colossus/Genbu and a fair few resource victories from +quarry and unliving keyword effect.

Runic could be the keyword you are looking for.
We still have to fully develop it, but I think that if we create some synergies with unliving it could become a good tower oriented keyword.

For sheat your sword I simply suggest to raise its cost (4/4/4 ?)
dindon on 23:27, 23. Nov, 2011
Runic is more about fending off your opponent's attack than it is about building up your tower. Of all runic cards, only three raise tower and they're mediocre commons (well Dwarven Watchtower isn't mediocre, but its goodness comes from its ability to summon rares, not its ability to raise your tower).

I think changing SYS to 4/4/4 would be a good change, since it would make it slightly costlier and prevent easy cloning. It still seems more powerful than any other common or uncommon discarder though. I don't know... better to undernerf than overnerf.

I'm talking about future developments; I know that right now it's not so "towerish" but with some new Runic tower cards + Runic/Unliving cards + Runic side effect it could become interesting
dindon on 23:37, 23. Nov, 2011
Oh, okay, that's true. Though Runic's anti-attack angle is pretty cool and unique. Maybe someday we can have a new keyword that's more focused on +tower. Flavour-wise, it could have something to do with order and efficiency, and progress. Something like "Scholars", or "Englightened", or something.
DPsycho on 23:44, 23. Nov, 2011
Perhaps "Architect?"

And I have to confirm what was said about Unliving. It's not solely building. I achieve Destruction victories as often as Construction (plus the occasional and unlikely Titan). It all depends on what I draw and what the opponent's strategy turns out to be. I would call it the most versatile keyword as you can adapt as the game goes on with the same selection of cards.

And as such, it's true. There is no keyword that is strictly building-centric.
Damalycus on 09:24, 24. Nov, 2011
Well aqua is building, although no tokens.
Some aqua tower decks are sure fun.
Xattab on 10:54, 6. Dec, 2011
about 30 games of my aqua deck - tower building victory )
